Macallan Rare Cask Black, Limited Edition 70cl. Another Rare Cask from the dark, mysterious warehouses of the The Macallan Distillery. This is a one-off, relatively small release of less than 100 casks, predominantly first fill sherry casks of European and American oak. Also within the mix were some casks containing unusually peated Macallan spirit, desired to impart a gently smoky edge.
This is limited edition that was only created for the travel retail industry and features the photography of Paolo Pellegrin and includes a Macallan branded pewter hip flask. Founded in 1824, The Macallan is one of the world’s most admired and awarded single malt whiskies. The reputation of The Macallan is based on a product of outstanding quality and distinctive character, founded upon a set of guiding principles, the Six Pillars. An obsession with quality has been the hallmark of The Macallan since its founding by Alexander Reid in 1824.
