Ardbeg Arrrrrrrrdbeg Committee Release 2020 70cl. A bottling in honour of the legendary Distillery Manager and Committee Chairman Mickey who is departing after a great 13 years. Captain of the good ship, he is now retiring and so this special bottle has been created to commemorate his service. A special treasure indeed fit for the saltiest of seadogs.
Wholly matured in ex-rye casks, gunpowder, smoked banana and pear drift into vanilla and rye on the nose. A spicy mouthfeel hoists up and ignites a blunderbuss of fruity flavours. An armada of aniseed is tailed by smoked toffee and a distant hint of sourdough biscuits. The long finish lingers, with gentle smoke listing on the palate.
